We at UniversalOrlando.co.uk respect your concerns about privacy and value the relationship we have with you.

Like many companies, we use technology on our website to collect information that helps us enhance your online experience. We refer to this technology as "Cookies" throughout this Policy, but this is intended to cover all similar devices including web beacons, log files, pixel tags, gifs.

This Cookie Policy explains

What Information We Collect & Why

Examples of the types of information we collect are:

  • how many users visit the site and which pages were accessed
  • whether you have visited our website before or if you are a new visitor
  • your viewing preferences (e.g. layout, sizing preferences, language, video player settings etc)
  • your username & password, so we can recognise you on future visits

We use this information to:

  • decide how to best tailor this site to our visitors
  • help us identify website features in which you may have the greatest interest
  • customise the advertising and marketing messages you receive on this site (either from ourselves or via third parties)

The length of time cookies are stored on your machine can vary, but they generally fall into two categories: session or persistent.

Session cookies only last as long as a single browsing session, and are deleted when you close your internet browser. Persistent cookies are used for things like recognising you when you return to a site, either to allow us to understand visitor patterns or to provide extra functions you've asked for like site personalisation and saved or stored content. They can be stored on your computer for 24 hours, a week, or several months, depending on the function they're helping to perform.

The cookies used on this website can be categorised in the following ways:

a) Category 1: Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies services you have asked for, such as shopping baskets or e-billing, cannot be provided. We don't use these cookies to gather information about you that could be used for profiling, advertising or remembering where you've been on the internet.

For examples of Strictly Necessary cookies used on this site click here.

b) Category 2: Performance cookies

These cookies collect information about how you use the website, for instance which pages you go to most often, and if you get error messages from web pages. These cookies don't collect information that identifies you as an individual. The information these cookies collect is anonymous and is only used to improve how the website works.

For examples of Performance cookies used on this site click here.

c) Category 3: Functionality cookies

These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced features. For instance, a website may be able to provide you with local weather reports or traffic news. These cookies can also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, font and other parts of web pages that you can customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. These cookies don't gather any information about you that could be used for profiling, advertising or remembering where you've been on the internet.

For examples of Functionality cookies used on this site click here.

d) Category 4: Targeting cookies

These cookies collect several pieces of information about your browsing habits. They are often placed by advertising networks rather than website operators. They remember that you have visited a website and share this information with other organisations such as advertisers. They do this in order to provide you with targeted adverts more relevant to you and your interests. Quite often they will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organisation. Although these cookies can track your visits around the web they don't usually know who you are.

Please note that rejecting these cookies does not mean that you will no longer see adverts when you visit the site. Without these cookies, online adverts you encounter will be less relevant to you and your interests.

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to a computer by the internet service provider whenever the computer is connected to the internet. Web servers, the computers that deliver web pages, automatically identify a computer by its IP address, and when a page is requested from a website, its servers log the IP address of the computer requesting the page.

Log Files

Log files are web server files (such as the domain name or IP address, URL, the http response code, the website from where you visit us or the date and duration of your visit) that are automatically created when an internet user visits a site. Once you stop using our website, we process and use this information only to enable further connections, for billing purposes, to detect disruptions to telecommunication equipment and to detect abuse of our telecommunication services. This information is deleted immediately once the connection to the website ends.

Pixel Tags

See Web Beacons below

Web Beacons

Certain pages on our website contain "web beacons" (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags and clear GIFs). A pixel tag is an electronic image, often a single pixel (1x1), which is ordinarily not visible to users and may be associated with cookies on users' hard drives. These pixel tags collect anonymous data. These web beacons allow third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies sent by the third party.

Third Party Advertisements

This site may include third-party advertising. These third party websites and advertisers, or the Internet advertising companies that work on their behalf, may use technology to send (or "serve") the advertisements that appear on our site directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use cookies, JavaScript, pixel tags and other technologies to deliver advertisements, collect information about the effectiveness of their advertisements, and to collect anonymous information about your visits to this site, such as the number of times you have viewed an advert (but not your name, address, or other personal information). For more information about these specialized cookies and other technologies, and how to "opt out" of information collection by these companies, we suggest you visit http://doubleclick.net/privacy_policy or http://networkadvertising.org/optout_nonppii.asp.

Please note that this site contains links to other sites that will not follow the same Privacy Policy as this site. For instance, clicking on an advertisement or on links or other elements on this site may take you to an entirely different site. Links to other sites may use our site logo or style as a result of a co-branding agreement. These sites may send their own cookies to you and may collect data and make use of that data in ways that this site would not. Once you've left this site, this Privacy Policy will no longer apply. Instead, you should check the applicable Privacy Policy to determine how that site will handle such data.
